Tanjung Priok Puddles Rapidly Resolved

Puddles on various roads in the Tanjung Priok area, Tanjung Priok Sub-district, North Jakarta were quickly managed and are now steadily receding.

Tanjung Priok Urban Village Government Section Head, Oky Muldiana reported multiple spots were impacted by puddles due to this morning’s rain.

He noted that water reached 5 cm on Jalan RE Martadinata (Post 3), 15 cm near the railway on the same street, and 10 cm on Jalan Enggano

"Thankfully, the water has begun to recede, and Jalan Enggano is now entirely free of puddles," he stated.

The cleanup was handled quickly by 15 PPSU personnel, who concentrated on clearing drainage channels and inlets to improve water flow.

"They were alert from early morning, acting fast to keep the puddles from lingering," he added.

Meanwhile, Tanjung Priok Water Resources Unit Head, Neti Heriati noted that nine personnel were dispatched to speed up the drainage. Floating pumps were also deployed at various spots to clear the water faster.

She noted that the Sunter Utara Pump House remains alert with three operational pumps and a fully functional trash screen. The inland water level is currently 20 cm, while the sea level stands at 181 cm.

"These measures aim to clear the water quickly to prevent any disruption to daily activities," she stated.
